He has a duty to involve and engage the public, and wider stakeholders, so that their views can be considered and fed into the design and delivery of services that support a safer South Yorkshire.

The PCC sets out the policing and crime priorities in his Police and Crime Plan and then determines the budget and level of council tax policing precept required to deliver that Plan.  He is also responsible for commissioning victims’ services.

New roles have been created in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to work closely with the Force, partners, key stakeholders and other service providers to help the PCC fulfil his role and responsibilities.
