Remembrance Sunday

On Remembrance Sunday I attended the annual service and wreath laying in Barker’s Pool, Sheffield.

There seemed to be larger crowds than usual and many children and young people came, not least the cadets – army, navy, Air Force and, of course, police.

This year there were 62 cadets on duty across South Yorkshire at Remembrance Day commemorations. Afterwards there were photographs with the cadets and two police horses.

On the afternoon of Remembrance Day I went to Madina Mosque, Sheffield, to celebrate the birth of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh). I spoke about his teaching and where it was similar to that of Christ.

The imam who led the prayers also remembered those who fell in war and led prayers for peace. He also prayed for the force and thanked them for facilitating the event.
