The Changing Lives organisation in Doncaster held an event on Wednesday, 24 January to celebrate the peer-to-peer research they have been carrying out with sex workers.

£112,000 AWARDED FROM COMMUNITY GRANT SCHEME

Since June 2017 the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Dr Alan Billings has awarded £112,000 to community groups and non-profit organisations in South Yorkshire from his community grant scheme.

REACTION TO FATAL COLLISION

Dr Alan Billings, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “I was deeply shocked and saddened at this distressing news. Whilst an incident like this is difficult at any time of year, it is particularly sad at Christmas.

FUNDING FOR SAMARITANS DEDICATED TELEPHONE HELPLINE

Rotherham Samaritans received a visit from Dr Alan Billings on Thursday, 7 December. The Commissioner called in to meet with the volunteers and see for himself the dedicated telephone line he has funded.

Dr Billings attended the Dinnington Together Christmas Event held at the Dinnington Resource Centre on Thursday, 30 November.

KEEPING SAFE EVENT IN DONCASTER

Dr Billings opened the annual Keeping Safe Event at The Hub, Doncaster College, on Friday, 1 December.

Dr Billings closed the Barnsley’s Independent Domestic Abuse Service (IDAS) event at Shaw Lane Sports Club on Friday, 1 December 2017.
