Dr Alan Billings, the Police and Crime Commissioner, walked around the Wicker area of Sheffield city centre to talk to local business people, including Wahid Nazir, who featured on the recent Channel 4 documentary “Keeping up with the Khans”.  The Commissioner listened as local business owners spoke about the issues affecting them and how the police could assist in reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.

Dr Billings said: “Business people were particularly anxious to stress the need for visible policing in the area. I agreed with them that this is one important way in which public trust and confidence is built up and retained. I was able to reassure them that maintaining neighbourhood policing is a vital part of my Police and Crime Plan which is launched this week.’
