Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Support Services Funding Announced

The Ministry of Justice has recently announced £147 million funding that will be delivered over a multi-year basis to support Domestic Abuse (DA) and Sexual Violence (SV) Services.

The funding is for three years from 2022/23 – 2024/25 which will assist services in future planning. The allocation must be spent within each financial year with no option to carry funding over.

Nationally the additional funding allocation for 22/23 is:

  • Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence – £15.7m
  • ISVA and IDVA Fund for additional 100 posts recruited in 22/23 – £3.75m

Funding has not been allocated to each PCC area. The MoJ has requested each PCC to undertake an assessment of priority need for services in their area. All applications received will be submitted to the MoJ for consideration and decision.

Officers from the Police and Crime Commissioners Office will be hosting two Microsoft Teams meetings on Thursday 14th April at 5.00pm and Tuesday 19th April at 2.00pm for organisations wanting further information.

Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Funding – How to apply

The MoJ and PCC is particularly keen to understand demand, and access of services for under-represented groups.

The completed assessment should cover needs for 22/23, any allocated funding awarded will be made on a multi-year basis.

Your application will be submitted to the MoJ as part of South Yorkshire assessment of need.

IDVA & ISVA Funding

The OPCC will work with lead commissioners to undertake the needs assessment who will work with services to put forward funding proposals. If a provider would like to be considered for this funding and is not already in contact with the relevant commissioner, please contact the OPCC to be put in touch with your relevant commissioner so that provision is suitably aligned to local strategies.
