THE TRUTH PROJECT ASK VICTIMS OF CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES
Dr Alan Billings, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner is asking South Yorkshire victims and survivors to contact the Truth Project should they wish to share their experiences.
The Truth Project was set up for victims and survivors of child sexual exploitation across the country and forms part of the Independent Enquiry in to Child Sexual Abuse. They wish to hear from victims and survivors who can provide them with information that will help them learn from the past and help shape how victims are dealt with in the future.
Dr Billings said: “I would encourage anyone in South Yorkshire who has been subject to a crime against them in the form of grooming or exploitation to contact The Truth Project. This is especially the case if they would like to help professionals understand how they can help victims who come forward in the future.
“What happened in South Yorkshire historically has highlighted the need for victims and survivors to help shape how the institutions that are there to protect them, let them down, and ensure that they get it right first time in the future.
