Dr Alan Billings, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “I was very shocked to hear of the death of Mohammed Munib Majeedi, the young boy from Afghanistan.

“These families have risked a great deal to help to this country and we have a duty of care towards them.

“I also thank the police officers who were at the scene. We ask a lot of our police in all sorts of circumstances and this was one of the more difficult.”
