Dr Alan Billings, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “I was deeply shocked and saddened at this distressing news. Whilst an incident like this is difficult at any time of year, it is particularly sad at Christmas.

STATEMENT ON POLICE FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

“The government has said that the funding for South Yorkshire Police will remain the same for the coming financial year as this - provided that council tax is raised by £1 per month for each household.

Dr Billings attended the Dinnington Together Christmas Event held at the Dinnington Resource Centre on Thursday, 30 November.

ASKERN PARTNERS AND COMMUNITIES TOGETHER MEETING

Dr Billings attended a meeting of the Askern Partners and Communities Together (PACT) on Friday, 1 December together with the neighbourhood team Inspector, Dan McKnight, and the two local Police and Community Support Officers.

TRUST AND CONFIDENCE RESIDENTS SURVEY

An independent organisation is undertaking a consultation exercise with residents within diverse and harder to reach communities to establish a baseline assessment of trust and confidence in South Yorkshire Police.

DONCASTER COMMUNITY MEETING IN ADWICK

Dr Billings was invited to a community meeting at  Woodlands Library in Adwick-le-Street, Doncaster on Wednesday, 22 November by Councillor John Mounsey. 

PUBLIC BRAVERY AWARDS

Dr Billings attended the Police Public Bravery Awards ceremony in London on Tuesday, 31 October.
